New Year, New career?

Updated: Feb 27, 2020

Is it time for a career change?

Its that time of year when we re assess our lives and make plans for the year ahead. If you are unhappy in your work then chances are you are considering a change of career.

A career in permanent make up is an incredibly satisfying and lucrative one with the average treatment taking 90 minutes to carry out and commanding £300 in revenue.

Working hours that suit you, you are your own boss and the sky is the limit.

Who can train in permanent cosmetics?

Contrary to popular belief, you do not have to have come from a beauty based background to be a train. Here at Divinity Permanent Cosmetics we have trained people from all backgrounds, police officers, nurses, full time mums, solicitors and printers!

You would, however, need to hold a level 3 qualification in Anatomy and Physiology.

As you can imagine, most of the learners we have trained have not had this qualification however, as an approved training centre for VTCT, we are authorised to deliver this qualification if you need it. It is one day of classroom based theory followed by assignments that must be completed at home by the learner.

Other than that, all you need is an artistic flair and a passion to learn!

Why train with Divinity Permanent Cosmetics Training Academy?

Following an increase in litigation cases being made against technicians who are poorly and in adequately trained, the law with regard to who can practice is due to change in the following months- it is already in place in certain boroughs of London.

To be able to obtain insurance and a license to practice, technicians must be in possession of a Level 4 qualification. The level 4 qualification that Divinity Permanent Cosmetics Training Academy offers is authorised and accredited by VTCT which is a government approved training provider.

Many training providers, including highly reputable ones, are unable to offer a Level 4 qualification at this time and are still only offering insurance approved certificates.

If you invest in such training and your qualification is NOT Level 4 then you WILL have to retrain to obtain insurance and a licence to be able to work.

Do not be caught out by this, do your homework and check that the qualification you are being offered is at a level 4 standard.

Level 4 is the highest qualification you can achieve in Micropigmentation or Microblading- it is at degree level and is recognised worldwide.

How is Divinity’s training unique?

Training with Divinity permanent cosmetics is tailor-made and bespoke to suit each individual learner. All practical days are taught by Michaela Kenworthy who is incredibly talented and is a speaker and renowned judge at the industry conferences.

She has over 30 years in the beauty world and has been practicing micropigmentation for 7 years.

Done on a one-to-one trainer to student basis, you will get Michaela’s undivided attention ensuring that your techniques are the best and your confidence is built.

All models are provided and training days are scheduled with you personally so you can fit them in around your current job and family life. There is no set schedule, even Sundays and evenings are available.

What is the cost and what is included?

Included in the cost is the following:-

  • Machine, hand piece and all the pigments, needles, sundries and equipment you need to carry out 10 treatments none of which will be used during training

I’m interested- what do I do now?

Whilst the financial rewards are huge, we understand that this is a huge financial investment and is not something to be taken lightly.

If you think this may be the career path for you, we encourage you to arrange to meet Michaela for coffee and spend some time with her to ask all the questions you have.

We have details of previous learners who have said they are more than happy to chat about their training experience. In addition, spend an hour shadowing Michaela whilst she works to see what it’s all about.

We don’t do ‘hard sell’ and openly encourage enquiries so please feel free to get in touch.

Our admin team will be more than happy to help you if you message or, alternatively, get in touch with Michaela herself on 07792 297864.

We are a small, friendly academy and pride ourselves on passing on the passion.
